Steve Chucri

Director of Compliance

Maricopa County Supervisor

Why did you get involved with O4K?
Having known the Van Norman family for over 30 years, I have come to respect their sense of community and philanthropic work. Simply put, if they were involved in an effort to help kids… that means I am too!

In what capacity have you been involved in sports? How long?
When I was in 8th grade I broke my nose playing baseball for my school team. I took that as a sign that I am a better spectator than player, and I have been ever since.

Have you ever been involved with a Nonprofit? How long? What capacity?
I have the good fortune to serve and have served on several different boards ranging from Alzheimer’s Southwest Chapter to Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona over the past 14 years.

What is your goal in being part of O4K?
I look forward to joining the great talent of board members that comprise O4K. Moreover, that by working together we can bring a smile to kids’ faces and help them achieve their goals and true athletic abilities through our work.

What experience, education, and or professionalism do you bring to O4K?
As someone who was born and raised in Arizona, I believe I have a good understanding about our community. Through my roles as President and CEO of Arizona Restaurant Association and as Maricopa County Supervisor, I am able to bring a keen understanding of the importance the private and pubic sector bring to not only this organization but to our state as a whole.
